Koh Samui and its advantages

What makes the island so popular? One of the biggest advantages we have here on Koh Samui is the average temperature of over 30 degrees per year. This allows us to live in casual clothing and flip-flops every day. And we can train Muay Thai outside all year round.

We are usually spared from the rain. There are always a few days with rain showers, but that is also limited and is usually only 1-2 hours per rainy day. It is very rare that we have continuous rain here for several days. So you can say that the weather is good all good.

But it’s not just the climate, it’s the size of the island that makes it a perfect vacation paradise. The island has a diameter of around 30 km and a ring road that is just over 50 km long. So the island remains clear and everything can be reached in a good 30 – 40 minutes by motorcycle, bus or car.

Koh Samui has different “main towns / beaches” where day- or night-life takes place differently.
In Chaweng – Bophut, where the largest town on Koh Samui is with 20,000 inhabitants, there is a tourist region with many hotels, restaurants and nightlife. Comparable to Phuket and Pattaya.
In Lamai the quieter place with perfect beaches like Silver Beach or Lamai Beach. Which reflects the somewhat relaxed life like in Krabi or Pattani.
The capital of Koh Samui is Nathon. There are usually very few tourists there and the lifestyle is similar to the places on the mainland in Thailand that are affected by fewer tourists.
Tropical forests and unspoiled landscapes, of course, are not missing either. Just a few minutes away from the main road you can quickly find the beauty of nature.
